Vastu Tips for Residential Projects

Regarding residential projects, adhering to Vastu principles can enhance the overall harmony and positive energy flow within the living space. Here's a guide for residential projects:

1. Site Selection:

 - Choose a plot of land that is square or rectangular in shape.

 - The land should ideally slope towards the north or east.

 - Avoid plots with irregular shapes, cuts, or extensions.

2. Orientation:

 - Ensure that the house's main entrance faces towards the north, east, or northeast direction to allow the entry of positive energy (Purusha).

 - Position the back of the house towards the south or west directions.

3. Layout Design:

 - Design the layout in a way that allows for maximum natural light and ventilation.

 - Keep the centre of the house open or light-filled to facilitate the flow of positive energy (Prana). An open courtyard is a must.

4. Room Placement:

 - Master Bedroom: Locate the master bedroom in the southwest corner of the house for stability and prosperity.

 - Children's Bedroom: Place children's bedrooms in the northwest or west direction.

 - Guest Bedroom: Position the guest bedroom in the northeast or northwest direction.

 - Kitchen: Situate the kitchen in the southeast corner of the house, with the cook facing east while cooking.

 - Living Room: Place the living room in the northeast or north direction to encourage social interactions and positive energy flow.

 - Pooja Room: Designate a space for the pooja room in the northeast corner of the house, away from bedrooms and bathrooms.

 - Study Room/Office: Locate the study room or home office in the northeast, east, or north direction for enhanced concentration and productivity.

5. Avoidance:

 - Avoid placing bedrooms, toilets, or kitchens in the northeast corner of the house.

 - Avoid constructing underground tanks or septic tanks in the northeast corner.

 - Avoid clutter, broken items, or sharp objects in the house, as they can disrupt the flow of energy.

6. Materials and Colors:

 - Use natural materials such as wood, stone, and clay for construction.

 - Choose soothing colours like pastels or earth tones for interior decor.

 - Avoid using dark colours or excessive metallic finishes.

7. Landscaping:

 - Maintain a well-manicured garden in the northeast or east direction to attract positive energy.

 - Plant trees like neem, peepal, or tulsi around the house for purification of air and positive vibrations.

8. Water Elements:

 - Install a water feature like a fountain or small pond in the northeast direction to enhance prosperity and abundance.

 - Ensure that water drainage systems are directed towards the north or east.
